I am in network with Aetna and OSU student and staff plans.

I use the “green bottle” method for my sliding fee. Please contact me to ask for more details about the sliding fee scale. This article provides more context on this style of sliding fee.

In starting my own therapy practice, I want to do it a way that aligns with my goals and values as a social worker. I believe that health care, including mental health care should be accessible and available. However after reviewing some of the contracts with certain insurance companies, I had to make the decision to not contact with them due to low reimbursement rates or other concerns. If I am not contracted with your insurance company, I will offer a sliding scale or provide a super bill for you.

AI is embedded in most of the web services I use, however if I have the option, I turn it off. I do not use it for creating notes either in a note taker or having it listen to the session. If that ever changes, I will be upfront with you on what the change is and how you can opt out.

It is not standard practice for me to offer a consultation before scheduling a therapy intake. However, I am absolutely willing to offer this via a phone call if it is something that will help you decide if I am a good fit for therapy. My goal is for people to find the right therapy and therapist for them. If I am that person, great and if not Ohio has many other wonderful therapists and I am happy to make referrals.

I believe that therapy depends on the therapeutic relationship and rapport that is built in session. I believe I am an empathetic, compassionate, and curious therapist. I am also sarcastic, have a dark sense of humor, swear a lot, and will be real. There have been debates online about “ethical therapy practices” and I drink water or coffee in session, I’ve been known to eat a snack, I encourage you to bring your breakfast, lunch or dinner with you to session. Therapy is hard and I want to remove as many barriers as possible to make it as accessible and helpful as I can.
